He had is stage debut as Hambirao in the Marathi play, Raigadala Jenvha Jaag Yete and went on to perform in many plays like Swapna Eka Valyache and Mansala Dankh Maticha. He would have become a cricketer, if it were not for a happy co-incidence that led him to pursue theatre when he was in college.
